Inspiration

We're a few guys who are terrible at planning and looking for ways to improve the social lives of Brown and other college students.

What it does

Records latitude and longitude geotag as well as a simple algorithm concerning accelerometer data from your iPhone, and sends the data to a web server. The web server then posts the location and motion data from all of the client phones on a map, so that users can see where the largest and most bumpin' party is!

How we built it

iOS, HTML, and Node.js. Attempted to use socket.io for hours with a crazy error.

Challenges we ran into

4 hours of debugging socket.io before realizing we should just use a direct HTTP post, as well as no backend experience and limited experience with iOS libraries we were using.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It works mostly! We have so much more we would like to do but that we are transferring data and posting to a map is amazing.

What we learned

SOOO much. Literally so much. We'll tell you all about it, but the experience has been incredibly rewarding

What's next for Let's Party

We'd love to populate the clientside map with pins, and add friend features, and a bunch of other great ideas that will take time.
