Best Practise Platform

Inspiration

All began with the german wirvsvirushackathon, where I participated 4 weeks ago as a mentor and later they asked me to be a judge… Long before most Germans realized the danger of Corona, the constant follow-up of on excellent online tool -called "Worldometer"- made me sad about the high death rate in wonderful Italy, already showed what may come to our and other countries, too…Another tool from the US was presenting 4 different simulations on social distancing, showing that isolation the elderly would not really work..

So time to ACT. I participated as mentor in "wirvsvirushackathon".. unfortunately „Flatten the Curve had been a single position somewhere in the middle between numerous entertainment projects and it and was then switched to position 837 from 837- at the end of the list- time to change strategy for an in an outside „ FlattentheCurve“ initiative.

Anyway, the „KEY moment“ for the LetsFight Corona- Portal, was laid there- with 2 projects. A participant posted in Slack a picture of an Italian quick invention for hospital patients - a snorkeling mask combined with a 3D selfprinted element and combined with a ventilator. First time I also heard about the „Compassionate Use“ regulation if you have no certification for your product- but use cases depend also on the flexiblity in your country...When loading up the story on my miniportal- I saw that snorkeling mask provider Decathlon has donated 10 000 of them for that purpose in Italy- so it worked… You find it in LFC Portal…

The 2nd key moment was a one of 10 projects I had to judge on (together with 4 others in prefinal round). The „Make 4 of 1 Ventilator“ project thrilled me and I gave top rates, but one of the main criteria was „easy to understand“ and I had to consult experts for the engineering schemes and descriptions, so the project did not pass to the final 20, neither did other (complicated) medical ones. So it might be forgotten because of lack of understanding or easy language… That´s why I had the idea for a information portal I named LetsFight Corona-International Best Practise Platform

The LetsFightCorona- Logo should symbolizes a double power. It reminds me of an eagle (for strength and visionary overview) and a white pigeon (for ground basis and „United in peace“ against Corona). Can also be considered as Government and People working together

What it does

So why not putting the international Best Practice informations in 1 place? Diversity is important, so you can pick the best virologist opinion from one country, the best social knowledge from another, the best simulation is important,too.Prio1 is help saving lifes first and then (in phase 2, 3..) hear about other best practises in case of hospitalization .. (LetsFightCorona). Why not warning other countries not yet affected and and provide them with the best solutions whereever they may come from one one place.. Time, place and the right information can make the difference. So hopefully they find it in future on the "Let´s fight Corona-Best PractisePlatform BEFORE, the basis for that is laid

Challenges I ran into

My plan was to start with an information website based on a clean and well designed look and and navigation infrastructure. I had not much experience on that, so I booked a small automatic content management system for absolute beginners. But what I got was the high end developper package (don´t laugh, as a middle aged person you don´t grow up with hacking, but with consulting… The advantage is the sense of usability- to know what your average middle aged „customers“ might like and accept)

So I had to change the whole strategy to see first if it would technically work.... (the previews on their promotion sites is not what you get but what you could get some day. I had to build it up from the scratch manually, it took long time but the structure is ready and online now!

What's next for Let´s Fight Corona - International Best Practise Platform

So going on with content and promoting. TOP priority 1 is "Saving lifes" (P1: Preventing- Phase 1), then "better handle it" if infected or indirectly affected ( P2 :Healthcare ) , also the topic "dealing with social and economical changes to get through", experiences (P3: Circumstances) and finally hopefully even getting out better when it´s over one day, e.g. with new business models half home-office/ half presence= also climate advantages ... (P4: Perspectives and Future. Please support Lets fight Corona- International Best Practise Platform
