Inspiration
In the hustle and bustle of city life, finding a peaceful moment to enjoy a cup of coffee or a quiet meal can be a challenge. We've all experienced the frustration of walking into a coffee shop or restaurant, hoping for a serene space to unwind or catch up on work, only to be met with long lines and overcrowded tables. This common urban dilemma sparked the idea for our project.
What it does
How we built it
LessQ leverages Azure's cloud infrastructure to provide a real-time crowd management solution, aimed at reducing wait times at restaurants, cafes, and other venues. By integrating Azure Event Hubs, Azure Functions, Azure Machine Learning, and Azure Cosmos DB, LessQ aggregates and analyzes live data on crowd sizes and wait times, offering users instant access to current conditions at their chosen destinations. Predictive analytics help forecast peak times, enabling users to plan their visits more effectively. For businesses, LessQ offers valuable insights into customer flow, helping optimize operations and improve the guest experience. The platform's use of Azure Cognitive Services further enhances user interactions through AI-driven features, such as sentiment analysis of reviews. Securely hosted on Azure App Service and authenticated via Azure Active Directory, LessQ combines efficiency, scalability, and security to revolutionize how individuals and venues manage crowds, making the quest for quick and peaceful dining experiences smoother and more predictable.
Challenges we ran into
We need to investigate in different areas including, IOT, be familiar with Azure infrastructures and etc. How to use less power units and data storage to reduce the cost. Thinking about the privacy and keep the data anonymous as much as we can.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Design the a system which does not need any video storge, which leads to less expenses. Additionally, by doing that, we keep the data secure.
What we learned
Mostly we learned about the Azure infrastructures, Azure Functions, Azure Maps, App services and etc. Also we learned how to use them sufficiently to keep expenses down. On the other hand is scalable solutions.
What's next for LessQ
Integrating the LessQ application with other vendor's system. Also, consider other parameters to offer the better order system, for example, considering the traffic.
