Inspiration
LensLink was inspired by a common campus issue: students often struggle to find reliable photographers, while skilled student photographers lack exposure and consistent opportunities. The idea was to create a trusted, centralized platform within the campus ecosystem.
What it does
LensLink is a campus-exclusive platform that connects students with photographers. Users can browse portfolios, post photography requests, communicate directly, and hire photographers through a streamlined and secure workflow.
How we built it
We built LensLink as a full-stack web application with role-based access for clients and photographers. It includes features like authentication, profile management, portfolio uploads, job postings, and messaging. The system was designed with a modular and scalable architecture.
Challenges we ran into
Designing a smooth hiring workflow while maintaining simplicity was challenging. Handling role-based access control, ensuring secure interactions, and managing consistent data flow between users required careful planning and multiple iterations.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully developed a functional, user-friendly platform tailored for campus needs. The seamless interaction between clients and photographers, along with a clean interface and structured workflow, stands out as a key achievement.
What we learned
This project enhanced our understanding of full-stack development, system design, and user experience. We gained hands-on experience with authentication systems, database structuring, and solving real-world problems through technology.
What's next for LensLink
We plan to introduce features like advanced search filters, secure payment integration, and improve interface.
