Inspiration

Food, music, and stories these are the mighty levers around which humanity has gathered for millennia to create cultures and civilizations. They heal us, unite us, inspire us and drive us.

LensFlix is an immersive media production studio rooted in the rich tapestry of humanity ́s cultures. We support and showcase diverse creative talent through experiential gatherings to raise investment in their projects and protect their rights and incomes. We use ancient practices and new technology to give wings to stories that build bridges, nurture imaginations, and explore new possibilities through healing and empowering narratives that create courageous realities.

Fun Fact: My grandpa helped launch the golden age of Mexican Cinema.

Mission: To give fresh voices with diverse perspectives decentralized paths for investment and more effective tools to protect their rights and royalties, creating an efficient and cost-effective system of production and distribution.

Vision: To create a global network of creator-owned local studios. To elevate unique voices exploring old worlds with new stories. To give creators and their fans a space to join forces to craft and promote life-giving, mind-expanding content that gives our imaginations the courage to create new realities.

Greedy studio execs ignorantly believe A.I. can replace writers & actors. Entry level, low skilled ones maybe.

A.I. actually give highly talented pros super powers. It gives a well organized group of them the power to create & distribute their IP at the same quality & reach as what before took the big studio infrastructure & distribution networks.

The right tech stack gives creators the power to toss the corp studio aside. Form strong, direct connections with their audience for better content & profit.

We put the power of a traditional film studio in the hands of the writers, directors and actors. Empowering them to create a direct relationship with their fans and create high quality, original content that they love. Not the formulaic content Hollywood churns out. Do we need a Fast and Furious 85? Let's launch a second, global scale Renaissance age!

What it does

We made a dapp that uploads content to the users lens profile using UDL licencing on arweave.

How we built it

We used React and chakraui for UI. We used Moralis and ethers for connecting our dapp to metamask provider. We used lens graphql api to get access token and posting content to lens profile. We used bundlr to post content on the Arweave network and UDL for licensing our content. Additionally we used redux, web3uikit to make our application built faster and vercel for deployment

Challenges we ran into

we were facing challenges with reading the data while uploading to the arweave network. We where a team of across very different time zones. 3 of the 4 this was their very 1st hackathon.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I learned how to use different technologies like Ethereum, Moralis, Arweave, and Lens' GraphQL. Even though these were new to me, I didn't stop trying. I learned how to use them for my app. This shows I'm good at making things look good and I'm also willing to learn new things, even if they seem a bit hard.

What we learned

Through the process of building this dapp during the hackathon, I've gained valuable hands-on experience of building a real life project with a wide range of technologies and concepts 1.Making a DApp and connecting it to the blockchain using moralis and ethers 2.I learned to store and retrieve data on a decentralized storage solution using Arweave and bundlr 3.Learned to handle Authentication and Authorisation using Moralis 4.Learned how to manage and enforce licensing agreements on the blockchain using UDL 5.Learned how a web3 social graph works using Lens Protocol

What's next for LensFlix

• We are now working on the Lens Protocol integration as our content distribution strategy is via them.
• Working with Unreal Engine to integreate LivePeer studio and Arweave using Universal Data Licence and the Universal
• Working with the Orb app team to with their video optimization to stream our content via their app using our white label streaming platform on Beem.
• integrating SuperFluid to create payment streaming subscriptions for our content to pay use it like Patreaon o like a Netflix subscription.
• working with Vancouver Indie film and music artist to help them create volumetric content
• Working with a Vancouver university that has a motion capture studio
• Working with another Vancouver University who has a giant LED wall
