Inspiration
We built TrustLoop because borrowing from people nearby should feel trustworthy, easy, and modern. Instead of anonymous listings and stale review scores, we wanted a community-first platform that uses AI and digital tools to make local lending feel safer and more reliable.
What it does
TrustLoop helps people borrow and lend with confidence by combining:
- AI-based condition checks
- trust and reputation signals
- easy digital agreements
- secure deposit handling
- an engaging discovery experience for local items
How we built it
We built the app with:
- React + Vite for a fast, modern frontend
- React Router for smooth page navigation
- Reusable UI components for a consistent design
- Framer Motion for subtle motion and polish
- Custom trust widgets to highlight safety and verification
The work focused on creating a clean, hackathon-ready experience with a strong hero section, discovery feed, and trust-focused interface.
Challenges we ran into
- Fixing broken JSX and component import issues
- Resolving port and dev-server mismatches during local development
- Handling icon library exports correctly
- Making sure the app booted and routed cleanly without runtime failures
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Built a fully working homepage with navigation, hero, discovery, and trust features
- Created a polished, hackathon-ready UI
- Got the app stable and running consistently on the intended local port
- Added clear scripts for frontend/backend workflows
What we learned
- Small routing and import bugs can stop a whole app
- Consistent local dev setup is critical for fast iteration
- Good UI structure makes it much easier to fix and scale features
- Git and project scripts are important for clean collaboration
What’s next for TrustLoop
- Add a real backend with authentication and data persistence
- Expand AI verification into real damage-detection workflows
- Improve trust scoring with real user behavior
- Add real-time notifications and borrow/lend matching
- Polish the experience for mobile and real users
