Inspiration
We were inspired by third-party loan lending platforms such as Kickstarter and Kiva. These platforms are an alternative to traditional banking options and let dreamers reach for their goals.
Features & How it works
- Standard login & authorization features + creating new account procedures
- Once logged in, users can access a dashboard with three sub-pages:
- Account information: User's unique assigned account ID, Name, Loan information and status
- Loan application information & applying assistance
- Browse loans to sponsor
- Users are allowed to both sponsor and apply for loan sponsorships
- On sub-page 2, users have access to a built in interest and payment calculator to assist loan calculations
How We Built It
- front-end: HTML/CSS/JS/Bootstrap 5.0
- back-end: SQL & Python
Challenges We ran into
- Figuring out the best way to design the dashboard to store and display all the information required for financial services
- Integrating the backend database with the frontend architecture through python and SQL
- Designing the relational database in the best way to organize the account information and loan processing
Accomplishments that We're proud of
- Utilized minimal design aesthetic to design the login information page and dashboard
- Connecting our database to the front-end section of the website
What I learned
- UI/UX Optimization
- Bootstrap Integration
- Using Python & JS to connect to a backend database
- Data warehousing, cleaning, and analysis
