After watching news stories about the many groups that are unable to shop for necessities, as well as having shopped for neighbors in our neighborhood, I decided that a central communications platform that matches a "task force" of shoppers with shoppees was needed amidst this time of uncertainty.

What it does

Lend a Shopping Hand lets shoppees make shopping list requests, which are then grouped by location and claimed by shoppers who happen to be going to those stores. By matching up shoppers and shoppees, Lend a Shopping Hand allows those who wish to contribute to lend a helping hand to those who need it.

How I built it

I built the website with HTML/CSS/JavaScript and used Google Maps API for the task map.

Challenges I ran into

Connecting the map, as well as several JavaScript functionalities, were challenging for me, but I definitely learned a lot from this project.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Creating a website to connect shoppers and shoppees!

What's next for Lend a Shopping Hand

I hope to expand Lend a Shopping Hand to include a payment feature through the site, as well as allow for messaging and calls, so shoppers and shoppees can interact as well.
