Inspiration
When I was younger I used to play a lot of idle games, so I decided to create one in this hackathon.
What it does
The game works by buying and selling lemons stores for various prices. As you buy lemons, the selling price will increase, allowing for you to make a profit. The more complex the store, the more is earned from selling. The goal of the game is to collect 50 of each store.
How we built it
The game was designed in Android Studio, where java and xml were the two main programming languages. The game could be simulated using an emulator, or transferred to a physical android device.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges that I ran into were saving data when switching between activities and also making the progress bars the right orientation.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
One accomplishment that I'm proud of is actually finishing the game in three days while learning more advanced concepts in Android Studio along the way.
What we learned
I learned how to create a larger, more functional app in android studio, creating both the backend and the frontend.
What's next for Lemon War
Lemon War will continue to be updated to catch bugs and other enhancements.
