Inspiration

The growth in video games is expanding. People are spending a lot of money buying games, especially for young kids. We want to start a partnership between video game companies and financial services, to make the purchase of games more attractive.

What it does

Our solution sounds like this: When making a purchase, a part of the amount will go to a saving account with good interest rates. This is could be very attractive to parents if they are thinking of purchasing a game for their kids.

How I built it

This solution will be built upon on the Auður platform, and the transaction services.

Challenges I ran into

Limiting the idea so it would be realistic to implement (especially in the beginning), and can grow from there.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Finding an idea that is realistic.

What I learned

It is easy to come up with an idea, but harder to make it realistic and find the purpose and gain of it.

What's next for Leikjavæðing sparnaðar

Next up would be to grow this solution to a bigger market, that is for example outside of the country. Another idea could be founding an Icelandic video game company that will focus on making games for education.
