About 800,000 people in Switzerland find reading difficult, yet official letters, forms and web pages are written for experts. Easy-language versions (Leichte Sprache, FALC, lingua facile) help, but they are slow and expensive to produce, so most texts never get one.
Leicht·Facile drafts easy-language versions of official texts using Apertus, Switzerland's open LLM. Apertus first pulls out the facts that must not get lost: deadlines, amounts, obligations, contacts. It then rewrites the text by easy-language rules and checks the result for missing or invented information. Plain code checks the countable rules. Professional writers and test groups stay in charge: every draft is reviewed and approved before use.
