Inspiration
Lehara Horizons was inspired by the need for a clean, user-friendly platform for real estate browsing. Many existing apps are cluttered or not optimized for mobile. I wanted to create an experience that feels smooth, modern, and intuitive—especially for first-time property seekers.
What it does
Lehara Horizons allows users to: Explore real-time property listings Filter by location, price, room count, postal code, and date Save favorite properties using context-based state management Enjoy a fully responsive, mobile-first browsing experience
How we built it
The app is built using React for modular UI development, Bootstrap and CSS for responsive design, and Context API for managing global state (favorites). The real-time filtering system and date picker enhance user interactivity. All components are optimized for both desktop and mobile environments.
Challenges we ran into
Ensuring smooth and accurate filtering across multiple criteria Managing favorites without prop-drilling or performance issues Designing a layout that adapts seamlessly across all screen sizes Fine-tuning responsiveness and date-picker functionality
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Built a fully responsive app that feels native on both desktop and mobile Created a dynamic filtering experience with real-time updates Successfully managed global state with minimal complexity Delivered a polished UI that enhances the overall user experience
What we learned
Efficient use of React Context and hooks Best practices in responsive UI and mobile-first design Strategies to keep performance smooth with live filtering Deepened understanding of modular component structuring in React
What's next for Lehara Horizons
Integrate real property APIs for live listings Add user login and profile features Implement a map view for geolocation-based browsing Enable listing submissions for property owners
