Inspiration
The rising threat of digital scams inspired us to create Legit Anot. We wanted to build a tool that empowers users of all technical levels to confidently navigate online interactions, distinguishing between genuine and fraudulent content with ease.
What it does
Legit anot is a digital safety solution that verifies the legitimacy of links and websites. Users can input a link on our website for a detailed safety score, influenced by factors like AI safety evaluations, SSL certification, and origin of link. While the website is our primary focus, a future Chrome extension is in development to provide real-time checks as users browse.
How we built it
We developed Legit anot using React.js for the front end and integrated APIs to conduct the analysis. The project started as a basic prototype and is evolving with AI-powered detection to enhance accuracy. We focused on creating an intuitive interface that is accessible and user-friendly.
Challenges we ran into
We faced several challenges, including the limitations of APIs that require payment to use, working with technologies that were new and unfamiliar to us, and managing time constraints throughout the project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud that our project is functional, we successfully integrated APIs despite the challenges, and we were able to execute most of what we initially aimed to achieve.
What we learned
Throughout this process, we learned the importance of strategic planning and gained valuable experience using React.js.
What's next for Legit anot?
Moving forward, we plan to expand Legit Anot into browser extensions to provide broader accessibility. We also aim to apply our solution to other forms of digital content, including emails and text messages. Additionally, we intend to incorporate community ratings into the overall evaluation process to enhance the accuracy and reliability of our platform.
