What it does
LegalLens is a webapp interface that simplifies those often boring and time-consuming documents. LegalLens categorizes the data into basic information or unusual and important information. LegalLens will notify you if there are any required fields in the document, and it quickly assesses the vulnerability of the document by giving it a score from 1 – 10.
How we built it
Under the hood of our webapp is a sleek front-end paired with an innovative backend incorporating the use of ExpressJS and various NodeJS libraries allowing us to read data from PDF’s and Word Documents. To ensure this we use extensive error handling while making sure documents are safe for the user with our document rating. How do we accomplish all of this though? The Google Gemini-2.0 Flash API. Gemini generates a response for the user based on their legal document to make the readability easier!
Challenges we ran into
A lot of challenges regarding prompting on the front end as well as json parsing with Gemini.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The whole project. We did not get as far as we would've hoped but, it was an awesome experience.
What we learned
Teamwork, communication skills, time under pressure, and working fast paced.
