Inspiration

I've had my troubles with legal contracts. Still, remember waiting in the lawyer's office to get my NDA checked and it took a long time too plus I had to pay the lawyer a lot. This was my personal pain and wanted to solve this issue. That's why I built LegalDocs

What it does

LegalDocs has a simple task in hand and that is to analyze the PDF file and provide complete details about it such as insights, risk, legality, key terms, and important dates, and even suggest better terms too.

How we built it

I've used the Nextjs framework as it was a production-ready framework. Used tailwind CSS for styling as it made the work easy too. Used Gemini Ai for model. The project was built using these tools and used some custom code for markdown.

Challenges we ran into

The challenges I ran into were mostly with the Gemini API, it was a simple integration and made some mistakes in the backend. Was quick to fix that so it worked fine in the end.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud that I built this project in 48 hours and used Gemini Ai for a fascinating purpose which was to help people and make contract analyzing cheap for everyone. This is what made me pursue this project instead of other things I've had in mind. Will continue to work on this project in the future.

What we learned

The most important thing I've learned is that anything is possible with Ai, especially with Gemini as it gave my project that extra edge that other models failed to. I've learned that this project could further be developed with a good UI of course as we lacked this in the hackathon version.

What's next for LegalDocs

This is gonna be a huge step personally for me to give more attention to LegalDocs and develop it into an enterprise application that everyone can use. Planning on adding authentication with OAuth2.0, a database that is gonna be a MySQL one, and adding payment integration such as stripe or paddle for this one. I hope I can create a better product for the consumers.
