Inspiration

The law is a highly complicated subject full of technicalities, small discrepancies, and flowery language. For those looking to migrate from their home, another country’s laws can be incredibly difficult to navigate.

What it does

Our project aims to support immigrants and refugees that are having difficulties managing the citizenship and/or asylum-seeking process.

How we built it

We used Open AI and Flask to create the API to give legal speech advice from speech input in any language(deployed on Render). And we used React.js to create the front-end which we deployed via Vercel.

Challenges we ran into

Having issues with the path variables when deploying to render.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The UI of our application along with the successful deployment of the API.

What we learned

We learned how to incorporate to AI into a web app with python and react.js

What's next for LegalAI

To enable document upload for legal docuements so that the AI can understand and interpret them.
