🚀 LegalAI – AI-Powered Legal Document Analysis & Risk Detection 💡 Inspiration Legal documents are often lengthy, complex, and difficult to interpret without legal expertise. Businesses, lawyers, and individuals frequently struggle with understanding key legal terms, identifying risks, and summarizing contracts efficiently. LegalAI was born to bridge this gap by leveraging AI-powered legal analysis to simplify document reviews, mitigate risks, and provide instant insights.

⚖️ What It Does LegalAI provides AI-powered legal document processing, enabling users to: ✅ Summarize Legal Documents – Upload PDFs and get an AI-generated summary instantly. ✅ Ask AI Legal Questions – Query AI on legal clauses, contract terms, and compliance issues. ✅ Risk Analysis for Contracts – Detect potential risks and liabilities within legal agreements.

With Pinecone-powered retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), it allows precise legal insights based on uploaded documents.

🛠️ How We Built It 🔹 Backend: FastAPI + OpenAI (GPT-4) for document analysis & legal reasoning. 🔹 Vector Database: Pinecone for efficient legal document search & retrieval. 🔹 Frontend: Streamlit UI for seamless legal document interaction. 🔹 Hosting: Deployed on an AlmaLinux server with systemd for process management. 🔹 Security: Uses API key authentication & environment variable-based credentials.

🚧 Challenges We Ran Into 🔴 Handling large PDF parsing and text extraction with accuracy. 🔴 Optimizing Pinecone search queries for better document retrieval. 🔴 API rate limits and ensuring OpenAI API calls are cost-efficient. 🔴 Debugging server process conflicts (port 4001) and managing systemd services.
