Inspiration

We've been inspired by all the funky quiz shows / apps that are popular basically. The music they use, the symbolism they portrey, everything that made them popular.

Another piece of inspiration was the interesting people we met as part of XR AI Hackathon Köln

What it does

  • User is learning, let's say, spanish, so they try to watch spanish movies, do spanish things.. Its hard to learn without using the language.
  • User wears the lightweight headset and starts the app.
  • They live on, at times forgetting the app is even running.
  • When they are in the supermarket;
    • They don't want to take out their phone, take a photo of whatever product, talk about it with some whatever AI, no music no funk, a lot of manual pressing stuff... Boring.
      • If they are wearing a lightweight XR glass, they'll enjoy the funky spanish quiz regarding the cereal box they are holding, just like they loved the kahoot music they heard during high-school end-of-lesson quizes, accompanied by an alien, in engaging light settings, in a cute & freindly way

How we built it

  • We've used Unity's SDK for XR development, specifically following the PCA guidelines by meta & by guidance of XR AI Hack mentors.
  • We've used garageBand and sunoAI for sound engineering
  • We've used a python fastapi backend for AI. Running stuff in the range of gemma3, gpt-oss, variations of YOLO, ... for various experiments

Challenges we ran into

  • Polishing the concept and the story

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • We have an MVP that works, and a concept that is presentable, with everything integrated together as per the concept ## What we learned

What's next for Legal Aliens

We polish concept and iterate development til release of next meta lightweight XR glass, and then we launch asap to capture as much of the market as can be
