Inspiration

Witnessing the difficulties 70% of Latin Americans face in accessing legal services, often unaware of their constitutional rights, inspired LeFri. We created a permanently free AI platform that integrates real-time constitutional data from ConstitutionProject.org, because justice must be universal, informed, and accessible to all.

What it does

LeFri delivers 100% free legal access worldwide through:

  • Real-time constitutional data from 195+ countries
  • Analysis of legal processes in different languages.
  • Real-time emergency alerts

How we built it

LeFri was designed as a cutting-edge platform: a React/TypeScript frontend and backend, a multi-agent system, and Node.js for legal processing and real-time integration with the ConstituteProject.org API. We use MongoDB Atlas Vector Search for constitutional data indexing and Gemini AI for multilingual legal analysis.

What we learned

Developing LeFri took me into uncharted territory: mastering Google Cloud Run to dramatically reduce cold starts by 95%, switching from SQL to MongoDB to optimize constitutional data, and developing a native AI application specifically using the Gemini LLM model—all with no prior experience, as I had used other models. Building reusable GitLab CI/CD components accelerated deployments by 70%, while integrating MongoDB Vector Search with real-time constitutional data revealed revolutionary accessibility potential. While early-stage, these technologies transformed my approach to scalable solutions, proving that pushing beyond comfort zones creates global impact, and I'm motivated to continue learning during the upcoming phase of user testing.
