Inspiration

Our positions as students lead us to come up with this idea.

What it does

Creates summaries and executes tasks based on what is said in a lecture/meeting. Exhibits accurate Speech-to-text conversion and a speedy process.

How we built it

Started by consolidating different parts of the project to different members (GUI, speech-to-text, etc...). Reaching a stage where all foundational backend functions were implemented. GUI was a slow work in progress, as we neared the submission deadline we reached a large issue that was undiagnosable. Unfortunately, it was unable to be solved before the due date. The GUI will be further improved on in the future.

Challenges we ran into

Understanding API documentation, and working with seen unfamiliar exceptions. Along with unseen errors that required extensive research and troubleshooting.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully transcribing speech to text. Successfully implemented Speech Services API, GPT 3.5 Turbo API, and Google Cloud API.

What we learned

We increased our knowledge in Git version control by utilizing Github to work in a team. Familiarize ourselves with various API documentation and syntaxes. Gained experience planning and working in a team environment.

What's next for LectureScribe

A fully functioning GUI with a proper flow from speech to action and results.
