Our project is meant to address the lack of well-organized, concise, and comprehensive lecture notes for most courses at Penn. The project's current audience is students and professors; students benefit from access to convenient, high-quality study materials that include all material from lectures, and professors benefit from the reduced barrier of entry to produce these materials. We aim to produce a device that can take in lecture video recordings and output a set of summarized notes (including text and white board photos) for students to use when studying for their exams.

The initial design consists of an audio/video recording device connected to a lecturer’s computer running the NoteToSelf application. The recording from this device is sent to AWS for transcription, and GPT-3 is used to categorize and summarize the transcript's contents. The results are then sent back to AWS for document construction, which will generate the final notes document in PDF and webpage form.
