Inspiration
This app was fully and deeply inspired by the ongoing poverty crisis in my home country.
What it does
Lebhelp connects organizations and individuals who can offer help with those who need it.
How I built it
I used the dart programming language with the flutter framework for the frontend The backend was managed by Firebase.
Challenges I ran into
Most challenges came before the initial app development when trying to brainstorm how the app will provide help. The idea of multiple types of accounts, locations, post descriptions and help categories eventually came to make the app as effective as possible.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I was super proud when the app reached n13 in social networking on the app store thanks to all the story reposts on Instagram. I managed to get many youth-led organizations and people in Lebanon to post about this app on their stories.
What I learned
I learned that the skills you learn could truly make a positive impact in your community if you know how and when to use them.
What's next for Lebhelp
I plan on publishing Lebhelp on google play store and potentially making it available in countries around the world for free, especially ones who could really benefit from it. I am also currently exploring how to implement offline Ai models such as google's gemma 3n in order to add offline disaster relief features and offer users access to critical information even when they're not connected.
