Inspiration

Education should be a right, not a privilege. Yet, millions of students face barriers—rigid curriculums, language limitations, and lack of access to quality learning. We wanted to create a tool that adapts to each learner’s needs, making education engaging, personalized, and accessible.

What it does

LearnSphere AI is an adaptive EduTech platform that:

  • Analyzes student performance to create personalized learning paths
  • Offers gamified quizzes and interactive lessons to boost engagement
  • Provides real-time feedback through an AI tutor
  • Supports offline learning for low-bandwidth regions
  • Integrates with local school curricula and supports multiple languages

How we built it

We followed the design thinking process:

  1. Empathize – Interviewed teachers and students from underserved areas
  2. Define – Identified engagement, accessibility, and personalization as the key challenges
  3. Ideate – Brainstormed AI-driven and low-bandwidth-friendly features
  4. Prototype – Built a web app with HTML, CSS, JavaScript frontend and Django backend
  5. Test – Piloted with 50 students in two schools and iterated based on feedback

Tech stack:

  • Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Backend: Python Django
  • AI/NLP: OpenAI API for adaptive tutoring
  • Database: PostgreSQL (production), SQLite (development)
  • Deployment: Cloud hosting on Render/Heroku

Challenges we ran into

  • Training AI models to support multiple languages with limited datasets
  • Ensuring the platform works smoothly in low-internet environments
  • Designing a UI that works for both young learners and older students
  • Balancing gamification with serious educational goals

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Developed a fully functional MVP within the hackathon timeframe
  • Achieved 30% increase in student engagement during pilot
  • Integrated AI for real-time tutoring without compromising privacy
  • Built a lightweight version that runs offline
