Inspiration

I was inspired by my own struggles as a learner. Over time, I’ve taken many online courses but often couldn’t complete them due to missing prerequisites, losing track of where I left off, or struggling to find the right resources. I realized there was a need for a personalized study companion—a platform that can guide, motivate, and organize my learning journey, helping me save time, money, and effort while reducing the stress of studying.

What it does

Learn Sphere is an AI-powered education platform that helps learners: Generate personalized study plans with prerequisites and timelines. Aggregate resources from YouTube, Coursera, and Udemy in one place. Create quizzes from video content to test knowledge. Track course progress and certificates in a unified dashboard. Provide a calm, aesthetic interface to reduce stress and stay motivated. Essentially, it’s a study companion that keeps learners organized, focused, and on track toward their goals.

How we built it

Frontend: Designed using lovable.ai to ensure an aesthetic, intuitive, and responsive interface. Backend: Node.js / Python (FastAPI or Express) to handle user data, progress tracking, and AI integration. AI Integration: Planned Gemini API for generating study plans and quiz questions. External APIs: YouTube Data API for video transcripts, Coursera and Udemy APIs for course metadata and tracking. Database: Firebase / Supabase to store user profiles, course progress, and certificates. The system combines AI-driven recommendations, interactive quizzes, and multi-platform tracking to provide a seamless learning experience.

Challenges we ran into

Did not have API credits to integrate gemini API Data fragmentation: Learning resources are scattered across multiple platforms, making it difficult to track progress. Dynamic content handling: Generating quizzes from YouTube transcripts required parsing and summarizing varying formats of video content. Integration planning: Coursera and Udemy APIs have limited access, so syncing progress across platforms is challenging. User experience: Designing a calm, motivational UI that remains functional while handling complex features like AI chat, quizzes, and dashboards.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Developed a centralized learning hub that integrates multiple platforms. Created a functional AI study planner prototype that can generate personalized schedules. Built an interactive dashboard to track courses, progress, and certificates. Designed a soothing and aesthetically consistent interface to reduce cognitive overload for users. Conceptualized a fully AI-integrated quiz generation system from YouTube content.

What we learned

How important personalization and motivation are in learning—users are more likely to complete courses when guided properly. The challenges of aggregating multi-platform content and syncing progress effectively. Best practices for designing calm, user-friendly interfaces that balance aesthetics with functionality. What's next for Learn Sphere

Embed YouTube videos directly in the platform with live quiz generation. Full integration with Coursera and Udemy to track course completion automatically and resume exactly where the user left off. Make the AI study planner more adaptive, updating plans dynamically based on quiz performance and progress. Explore community features like shared study plans, peer quizzes, and collaborative learning. Enhance motivational features, including reminders, streak tracking, and gamified progress indicators.
