Inspiration Many students struggle to stay consistent with traditional study methods, especially when learning dense subjects that require repeated revision. We noticed that despite the wealth of online learning tools, very few platforms combine active recall, instant assessment, and multimodal learning in a single, seamless experience. LearnQuest was inspired by the idea of making learning more engaging, accessible, and adaptive—helping students not just memorize, but truly understand.

What it does LearnQuest is an interactive learning platform designed to improve concept retention through a combination of: Flashcards for quick revision and active recall enables with highlight to hear text. Quizzes to immediately test understanding An AI-powered audio voice agent that reads concepts aloud, explains difficult topics, and helps auditory learners grasp material more effectively

How we built it I designed LearnQuest using a modular architecture to ensure flexibility and scalability: Frontend: React-based interface for smooth navigation and an intuitive study experience Backend: Node.js to manage flashcards, quiz logic, and user progress AI Voice Agent: Powered by modern LLM-based text-to-speech and question-answering models to provide conversational support Database: A secure cloud datastore to store flashcards, quiz results, and user learning analytics Integration Layer: Connects the learning modules so students can transition seamlessly from studying to testing to listening

Challenges we ran into Understanding what a good solution in terms of assistive aid could be. Designing flashcards and quizzes that adapt intelligently to user weaknesses Ensuring the voice agent provides coherent explanations without overwhelming the student Maintaining a smooth UI/UX while handling multiple data-heavy learning modules
