Students often struggle to understand complex academic concepts from textbooks, lecture slides, and other learning materials. Finding clear explanations, identifying important concepts, and preparing for assessments can take a lot of time. I wanted to build a learning assistant that makes studying more personalized, interactive, and accessible.

What it does

LearnMate AI is a personalized AI learning assistant designed to help students understand their course materials, explore difficult concepts, and practice through assessments. Its goal is to connect learning resources with clear explanations and more adaptive learning experiences.

How we built it

I developed LearnMate AI as an AI-powered learning project, focusing on a student-friendly experience and features for personalized tutoring. The project concept brings together course-material-based learning, concept explanations, and assessment-oriented practice in one place.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was designing a learning experience that is useful for different student needs while keeping explanations connected to the provided learning resources. Another challenge was planning how personalized assessments and feedback could help students identify concepts they need to practice more.
