Inspiration

Many students worldwide relate to a simple but harsh reality: the struggle for quality education that aligns with their unique learning styles! Not only have I noticed this, but I have first-hand experience with it myself as a freshman in high school! Traditional educational approaches often miss the mark, leaving students zoned out and itching for the class to be complete. This global issue hampers the realization of educational aspirations in students. However, within these challenges lies the potential for innovation and change in the field of education. It's this struggle shared by millions of students worldwide that fueled my inspiration behind Learnly - a platform dedicated to accessible, personalized, and community-driven education. I aim to redefine the learning experience, providing students worldwide with the tools to unlock their unique potential, no matter where they are.

What it does

My solution to this problem is Learnly. A transformative educational platform designed to provide students with personalized learning experiences, global accessibility, and a strong sense of community with like-minded peers. The platform employs AI to tailor educational content based on individual learning styles, making learning engaging and effective, using TensorFlow and Keras. With a commitment to global accessibility, Learnly ensures that quality education is available to students worldwide! Additionally, the platform creates a collaborative community, enabling students to connect, learn together, share ideas, and celebrate achievements using online leaderboards and chatrooms. Learnly aims to revolutionize education by offering a uniquely tailored, globally accessible, and community-driven learning experience for all.

How I built it

After brainstorming possible ways I could build this app with the time that I had, I eventually settled on building a design prototype that effectively captures the essentials of my vision in a sleek manner. I also believed that an effective prototype would gain attraction as well. To build the graphics, I used a UI graphic program called UIzard, and have started working on a Unity project with implementations of the Tensorflow Keras learning system, AWS (Amazon Web Services) for global access, as well as other frameworks to build the core of the project.

Challenges I ran into

Developing a prototype for Learnly came with its share of challenges. I dedicated my efforts to design, making sure that the aesthetic and usability of the app were high. While the functionality is yet to be fully implemented, my commitment to an inviting UI laid the groundwork for the educational platform's future development. The challenges primarily revolved around striking the right balance between aesthetics and functionality, which I had to do my share of background research on.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

In the course of developing Learnly, several accomplishments stand out as sources of pride. Firstly, achieving a visually appealing and intuitive prototype demonstrates the feasibility of my commitment and ability to deliver a user-friendly and innovative educational platform. I successfully made sure that even in the early stages, Learnly offers a compelling and aesthetically pleasing experience. Additionally, establishing a solid foundation of AI algorithms, despite having accomplished at a young age, will be essential to Learnly's success, making it an accomplishment I'm proud of.

What I learned

Through Learnly, I've learned the importance of community engagement, accountability, and thinking outside the box. I've discovered the profound impact of collective action and initiative and how, when someone puts their mind to it, can achieve anything.

With the traction gained from this hackathon, I will be able to turn this innovative personalized education platform into a tool students worldwide will be able to rely on and build connections and friendships with others.
