Traditional group study has always brought students together through shared motivation, handwritten notes, and peer teaching. But that experience has been lost in the age of isolated online learning. We wanted to bring it back—with a modern twist.

The idea for Learnly came from our own struggles to stay focused and motivated while studying alone. We asked: What if AI could support study groups instead of replacing them? That’s when Learnly was born—a platform that feels like an old-school study circle but with AI superpowers.

Learnly allows users to:

Create or join private study groups

Upload notes (handwritten or typed) and have them summarized by AI

Generate AI-powered quizzes and flashcards from group content

Use voice memos that are transcribed and converted into study guides

Receive personalized weekly recaps and study plans

Use usernames to add friends and form long-term study teams

The platform focuses on collaboration and learning together—with AI quietly assisting in the background. it does

Making something people actually wanted to use—not just a product, but a learning space that we're proud of

Simplicity in UI design often takes more effort than complexity

Students want motivation as much as they want information—community is key

Real-time collaboration and AI integration require constant testing and iteration

Building an emotional connection through software is possible and powerful

we learned

Introducing a leaderboard and achievement badges to gamify consistency

Expanding AI capabilities to support voice-based tutoring and deeper concept explanations

Launching a mobile app for easier on-the-go collaboration

Partnering with schools and student communities for real-world use
