Inspiration

Many students struggle to find structured learning paths, quality resources, and career guidance. We created LearnLoom to make learning personalized, engaging, and AI-driven, helping students build skills that match their career goals.

What it does

LearnLoom is an AI-powered learning platform that delivers personalized learning roadmaps, AI mentorship, coding practice, quizzes, progress tracking, certificates, and career guidance. Students receive tailored recommendations based on their goals and learning progress, making education more effective and interactive.

How we built it

We developed LearnLoom using React, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind CSS, and Supabase for authentication and backend services. AI powers personalized recommendations, mentorship, and adaptive learning experiences, while Vercel hosts the application for fast and reliable deployment.

Challenges we ran into

Designing dynamic learning paths, integrating AI seamlessly, organizing educational content, and creating an intuitive user experience while maintaining performance and scalability were our primary challenges.

What's next for LearnLoom

We plan to introduce AI interview coaching, resume analysis, mock interviews, adaptive assessments, multilingual support, collaborative study spaces, and deeper career insights to help students become industry-ready.

My primary contribution to LearnLoom involved transforming the platform into a secure, stable, and production-ready application.

I significantly strengthened the system's security architecture by implementing JWT authentication for protected API routes, integrating SSRF and XSS mitigations, and centralizing AI requests through secure backend APIs to eliminate the exposure of Gemini API keys on the frontend.

To enhance platform responsiveness, I introduced mobile-optimized layouts, responsive breakpoints, a slide-out Course Player sidebar, and touch-compatible navigation, ensuring a seamless user experience across all device sizes.

Furthermore, I modernized the UI by adopting a premium glassmorphism design and standardizing branding elements to deliver a more professional SaaS experience. I also addressed critical reliability issues, including browser tab reloads and Google OAuth callback failures, while implementing local storage to preserve user progress across sessions.

Finally, I bolstered backend integrity by enforcing Row-Level Security (RLS) policies and refactored the codebase to replace loose TypeScript types with strict, type-safe implementations, ultimately resulting in a robust, maintainable, and production-ready environment.
