InspirationLearnLens AI — See. Understand. Learn Better.

Inspiration 💡

Every student learns differently. Some understand concepts through diagrams, others through written explanations or spoken discussions. However, traditional learning tools often provide the correct answer without identifying why a student made a mistake.

This inspired us to build LearnLens AI, a multimodal AI-powered learning assistant that aims to understand how students approach problems, identify mistakes in their reasoning, and guide them toward better understanding.

Our vision is to make learning more personalized, interactive, and accessible by combining the power of Generative AI, computer vision, and intelligent AI agents.

What it does 🚀

LearnLens AI is designed to help students learn from their mistakes rather than simply memorize answers.

  • Handwriting Analysis: Upload handwritten solutions for AI-powered analysis.
  • Diagram Understanding: Analyze educational diagrams and visual explanations.
  • Voice-Based Learning: Support spoken questions and explanations.
  • Mistake Detection: Identify potentially incorrect steps in a student's solution.
  • Step-by-Step Guidance: Explain concepts through simple, understandable hints.
  • Personalized Practice: Generate follow-up questions based on the student's learning needs.

The goal is to transform learning from a question-and-answer experience into an interactive process of understanding, practicing, and improving.

How we built it 🛠️

Our approach is to combine a simple, user-friendly interface with AI-powered analysis.

The frontend provides an interface where students can submit their questions, handwritten work, diagrams, or spoken explanations. The backend processes these inputs and connects them to appropriate AI capabilities for text understanding, image analysis, and speech processing.

A reasoning workflow coordinates the analysis, explanation, and practice-question generation stages. The results are presented to the student in a clear format, helping them understand the mistake and learn the correct approach.

Our planned technology stack includes HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Python, AI model APIs, and suitable image and speech-processing tools.

Challenges we aim to solve 🎯

One of the main challenges is understanding different input formats, especially handwritten mathematical expressions and complex diagrams. Another challenge is ensuring that AI-generated explanations are accurate, easy to understand, and relevant to the student's actual mistake.

We also aim to make the system responsive, easy to use, and capable of providing meaningful learning guidance instead of generic answers.

What we hope to learn 📚

Through this project, we aim to gain practical experience in multimodal AI, Generative AI, agentic workflows, API integration, and full-stack application development. We also want to explore how AI can be used responsibly to improve education and support different learning styles.

Our vision 🌟

With LearnLens AI, we want to move beyond simply asking AI for answers. We want students to understand why an answer is correct, where their reasoning went wrong, and how they can improve next time.

LearnLens AI — See the mistake. Understand the concept. Master the skill.
