Background

During the COVID-19 pandemic, all aspects of our lives have shifted to digital. One aspect that is affected is education. Learning that is usually done face-to-face has to be done remotely using the Video Conference Platform. Although online learning has grown rapidly in the past year. There are still many problems with the effectiveness of online learning. This needs to be addressed because in the future, even though the pandemic is over, online learning will not go away, and development must continue to be done to maximize this online learning.

Goals and Result to be Achieved

The goal to be achieved is to maximize online learning. our product will solve the problems faced by students and lecturers in conducting online learning, such as the ineffectiveness of learning through many different video conferencing platforms.

Objective Achievement Methods

In this project, the LearningXP team used the Design Thinking Method. Design Thinking is a non-linear and iterative process that seeks to understand users, challenge assumptions, redefine problems and create innovative solutions. Design Thinking is divided into 5 stages. Namely Emphasize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test.

User Target

The target users of this product are college students and campuses who want to adapt to online learning.

Product Limitation

LearningXP is not available for mobile.

Platform used

The platform used in the LearningXP project is a desktop application. The LearningXP team used Figma to develop the LearningXP user interface

Product Scenario

The LearningXP platform is used in the online learning process, starting from online video meetings with lecturers, carrying out assignments during learning, to reviewing lessons that have been done.

  1. When lecture hours start, users can join in online video meetings by using the video conferencing feature in LearningXP.
  2. During lecture hours, to record points from the lecturer's explanation, the user can use the text recording feature, which will then be saved automatically when the lesson is finished. In addition, users can perform assignments and submit assignments from lecturers in LearningXP. so the user does not need to open many different applications.
  3. After the lecture hours are over, the user can review the learning that was done previously by looking at the results of the text recording that has been recorded during the learning.

User Testing Method and Result

In user testing, our team performs 4 phases:

  1. Test Preparation In this phase, we develop questions that will be asked to the user about the LearningXP platform and develop a test scenario which will then be carried out by the user.
  2. Conducting Test After preparing questions and test scenarios, the team's testing method was to conduct semi-constructed interviews. The user does testing according to the scenario that has been given, then the team asks questions about the user experience when testing. Questions are not only tied to scripts that have been made previously but are added or followed up according to the answers from the user.
  3. Document Result We then categorize the results of feedback from users into 4 parts, namely likes, wishes, questions, and ideas. In accordance with the answers and feedback from the previous testing.
  4. Infer Learning Then from the results of all the feedback, our Findings should be grouped with similar findings, meaning that there may be a section about navigational issues and other sections about particular pages or task flows. Then we together look for solutions from the negative findings and feedback we receive from users.

Conclusion

During this LearningXP project we run, we get a lot of knowledge that we can get. In addition, there are many challenges and obstacles that our team faces. Even so, our team is very excited to face this challenge because we are very excited and believe the project we are doing will be very useful and can be used to maximize online learning. We are aware that there is still much that we can improve and develop from our project and hopefully this project can be useful for the world of education
