LearningDude AI — Your Career, Your Roadmap

Inspiration

As a BCA student, I understood how confusing it can be to choose a career in technology. Students often get confused between web development, software engineering, AI and machine learning, and cybersecurity. They also struggle to decide what to learn and how to prepare for their first job.

This inspired me to build LearningDude AI, a platform that helps students explore career options and organize their learning journey in one place.

How we built it

I built LearningDude AI using Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS. I used Supabase for authentication and created separate sections for the platform's career and learning features.

I also worked on the user interface, application structure, authentication setup, and deployment using Vercel.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was setting up authentication and configuring environment variables correctly for deployment. Making the different sections work together as one platform also required careful planning and testing.

Working through these challenges helped me better understand how a web application moves from local development to deployment.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud to have turned an idea inspired by real student career confusion into a web platform with multiple connected features.

Building the dashboard, career assessment, course catalog, job tracker, resume section, and Vani AI interface helped me bring my vision closer to a practical product.

I am also proud of learning new concepts and deploying the project online.

What we learned

Through this project, I improved my understanding of React, Next.js, TypeScript, UI development, authentication, environment variables, and deployment.

I also learned the importance of keeping a project focused on a real user problem and building features around that need.

What's next for LearningDude AI

Next, I want to improve career recommendations, add more personalized learning roadmaps, expand curated learning resources, and develop more useful AI-powered career guidance.

I also want to improve the job discovery experience and help students connect their skills and projects with entry-level career opportunities.

My long-term goal is to help students find direction, build practical skills, and take their next career step with confidence.
