Inspiration

Students often get answers from AI tools without truly understanding the concepts. We wanted to build a learning companion that helps students identify weak areas and learn concepts in different ways.

What it does

LearnForge AI is an adaptive AI learning companion that provides source-grounded answers, practice quizzes, adaptive feedback, alternative explanations, and progress tracking. When students answer incorrectly, it helps them understand their mistakes and learn the concept differently.

How we built it

We built LearnForge AI with a Python backend and a web-based frontend. The application connects learning materials with AI-powered explanations, quizzes, feedback, and progress tracking.

Challenges we faced

One challenge was creating a learning experience that goes beyond a basic document chatbot. We focused on connecting quiz performance with feedback and alternative explanations so learners can improve on difficult concepts.

What we learned

We learned how to combine AI-assisted learning, document-based question answering, quizzes, and progress tracking into one application. We also learned the importance of making AI explanations useful for actual learning.
