Inspiration

We were inspired by how different people learn. A learning tool may work well for one person but become overwhelming or difficult to follow for another, especially when the content is long, complicated, or presented in only one format.

We wanted to explore what learning could look like if the learner was able to get information in a way that works better for them.

This led us to build LearnForge, an AI-powered learning platform that turns a learning goal into a structured, step-by-step experience and can adapt the way the content is explained.

What it does

LearnForge allows a learner to enter anything they want to learn. The AI then turns the request into a structured learning experience with clear steps, explanations, and generated learning content.

For neurodivergent learners, the goal is to make learning less overwhelming by breaking complex topics into smaller parts and providing different ways to understand the same idea.

LearnForge is designed to support learners rather than forcing every learner to follow the same learning style.

How we built it

We built LearnForge as an AI-powered web application. The user starts by entering what they want to learn, and the AI processes the request and turns it into a structured learning experience.

We focused on making the experience simple and easy to follow by breaking larger topics into smaller steps. LearnForge also generates explanations and learning content that help the learner understand the topic instead of just giving them a single AI response.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was making AI-generated content useful without making it too complicated. An AI can give a lot of information at once, but more information does not always mean better learning.

We had to think about how to structure the content into smaller and clearer steps so learners can focus on one part at a time. We also had to think about how LearnForge could support different learning preferences instead of assuming that everyone learns in the same way.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of turning a simple learning goal into a complete, structured learning experience using AI.

We are also proud that LearnForge is not limited to one subject. A learner can use it to learn programming, mathematics, languages, professional skills, or other topics they are interested in.

Most importantly, we built the project around the idea that learning technology should adapt to the learner instead of expecting every learner to learn in the same way.

What we learned

We learned that building an AI product is not only about getting the AI to generate an answer. How that answer is organized and presented can have a big effect on the user's experience.

We also learned more about designing for different learning needs and how important it is to keep AI experiences simple, clear, and focused on the person using them.

What's next for LearnForge AI

We want to make LearnForge much more adaptive. Future versions could allow learners to choose how they want information presented, adjust the amount of content shown at once, generate more visual explanations, create interactive exercises, and change the learning approach when a learner is struggling.

We also want to continue testing with neurodivergent learners and use their feedback to improve the product. Our goal is to build LearnForge with learners, not just for them.
