Inspiration

LearnBlock was born from the team's passion for revolutionizing the education sector and addressing the limitations of conventional tutoring platforms. They envisioned a more secure and trustworthy system, inspired by the potential of blockchain technology to provide transparent and immutable records. With this vision in mind, the team set out to create LearnBlock, a cutting-edge tutoring platform.

What it does

At the core of LearnBlock's functionality lies blockchain technology, ensuring a secure and transparent environment. When teachers and tutors register on the platform, their identity and credentials are securely recorded on the blockchain, safeguarding them from any tampering. This guarantees that each teacher's information remains authentic and is firmly associated with their profile.

How we built it

Credentials such as qualifications and certifications are transformed into unchangeable transactions and stored on the blockchain. As a result, potential students can easily verify the authenticity of a teacher's qualifications, promoting transparency and trust.

Challenges we ran into

The platform streamlines the tutor-student matchmaking process by utilizing sophisticated algorithms. Students can effortlessly search for tutors based on subjects, expertise, and availability, facilitating an enhanced learning experience.

During my hackathon, I successfully implemented functional APIs in Java Springboot for user creation. To ensure the security of new user creation requests, I introduced a blockchain concept that builds upon the previous block's code.

When a new user is created, the system generates a blockchain transaction code based on the hashcode derived from the request. This unique block transaction code is then stored in the database. Subsequently, when a new request for user creation arrives, the system validates it by comparing the last blockchain code stored in the database with the code from the previous block. If the codes match, the user creation request is registered and processed. However, if there is any unauthorized alteration in the request code, the user creation API will promptly respond with an "Unauthorized" message, thereby safeguarding the integrity of the system. The implementation code can be found in the "server" folder of my GitHub repository.
