Inspiration

In Pakistan, 60% of students struggle because quality education is only in English. My cousins in the village couldn't understand "Photosynthesis" or "Algebra" from YouTube. Even I got stuck in subjects like Physics and Maths due to complex explanations. I realized the barrier isn't intelligence - it's language and teaching style. That's why I built Learn Buddy AI: to make every subject easy for every student, in their own language.

What it does

Learn Buddy AI is a one-click learning companion for ALL subjects.

  1. Enter any topic - from Algebra $x^2 + 3x = 10$ to Photosynthesis to History.
  2. Get instant help - Simple notes explained like you're 10 years old + 3 practice MCQs.
  3. Step-by-step for Maths - It solves equations like $2x + 5 = 15$ in simple steps, in Urdu.

It's "Education for Everyone" - whether you're 8 or 80, struggling with Maths or Science.

How we built it

We used HTML + Tailwind CSS for a clean, mobile-first UI that works even on slow internet. The core is AI Prompt Engineering on One Compiler. We designed strict prompts to force the AI to give step-by-step solutions for Maths. The entire app is a single HTML file - no backend, no cost, accessible to anyone with a browser. Challenges we ran into

  1. Solo Hackathon at 4 AM: Building, testing, and debugging alone all night was tough. We had to keep the scope tight but impactful.
  2. Maths Formatting: Getting step-by-step solutions for algebra like $x = \frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}$ to render clearly in Urdu was tricky. We simplified the output format.
  3. Time Limit: We had to skip extra features like voice input to meet the deadline, but kept the core promise strong.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  1. Real Impact: A working tool that can help millions of students who fail due to language barriers, not lack of talent.
  2. All-Subject Support: We expanded from just "Science" to Maths, English, History - making it truly universal.
  3. Zero-Cost Solution: Anyone with a phone can use it. No app download, no signup, no fees.
  4. Solo Built in One Night: Went from idea to live deployment at https://liweb.oneapp.dev in under 8 hours.

What we learned

  1. Prompt Engineering is Powerful: The right words can make AI behave exactly how you need for social good.
  2. Simplicity Wins: Judges and users don't need 20 features. One problem solved perfectly is better.
  3. Empathy > Code: Understanding the real struggle of a village student was more important than complex code.
  4. Tailwind CSS Speed: We built a beautiful, responsive UI in minutes without writing custom CSS.
  5. You Don't Need a Team to Make Impact: One person with a laptop at 4 AM can still build something that matters.

What's next for Learn Buddy AI - Education for Everyone

  1. Add Voice Input/Output: So students who can't type can just speak their question and listen to answers.
  2. More Languages: Add Punjabi, Sindhi, Urdu, Pashto to reach every child in Pakistan.
  3. Save & Share Notes: Let students save their notes as PDF to study offline.
  4. Teacher Mode: Allow teachers to create custom quizzes for their class.
  5. Partner with NGOs: Deploy this in rural schools and learning centers across Pakistan to support UN SDG 4: Quality Education.
