Inspiration

I was inspired to pursue this idea after my internship this summer. This summer, I spent about 2 months researching and learning about my planet and the impacts of human activities on earth. I wanted to educate and create awareness about this topic, therefore, I was inspired to create "Environment Friendly"

What it does

Environment Friendly is a website that educates its users about the impacts of human activities on our environment through a variety of graphs. It also provides the user with high-level solutions to implement.

How we built it

I built the graphs with the help of Python and its libraries like Seaborn, Matplotlib, and Pandas. The website was built on google. sites. All the data to produce the graphs came from a dataset on Kaggle.com. The graphs were built on jupyter notebook for 10 countries, a mix of developed and developing countries. The criteria used for the graphs were analyzing the main causes for global issues.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge I ran through, in the beginning, was being unable to filter through 190 countries in my data frame to find 10 specific countries. However, O solved the problem and it turned out just as I wanted.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

An accomplishment I am proud of is taking a step, and participating in this hackathon. Through this hackathon, I was able to educate people about issues that are impacting us.

What we learned

I learned that patience is a very important element when developing something. I spent about 3 hours trying to fix a tiny problem, however, when I finally found the solution, I was very relieved and my patience did pay off.

What's next for Learn about your environment website

After using my Data Science skills to develop this website, I want to move ahead and use Machine Learning. I plan to create a machine learning model, that will take pictures of forests and return a result is the land is going through deforestation or not.
