Inspiration
We were inspired by the belief that the elimination of institutional inefficiencies with respect to green infrastructure would make sustainability efforts more fruitful.
Benefits
The value this website provides is split into two parts: gamification and data. The gamification aspect allows individuals to gain awareness of green infrastructure in their area while also enjoying the competitive nature of the shareable score. The data aspect allows individuals and business to identify where green architecture they have set up or need to use is plentiful, where it needs to be implemented, and where it is implemented but inaccessible/hard to notice.
Methodology
We used React for our front end. We used AWS to store user information for signing in, tracking their score, and storing which images they contribute to the data. We also used the ml5 library for AI image classification to confirm the usability of said images in our data.
Future Updates
In the future, we could use the Google API to generate markers where the data coordinates are located for easier and more precise access, as well as a custom AI model in Tensorflow for more control over the parameters of data we use.
