Leading-edge is a next-generation e-commerce platform for vendors, where they can display their goods and access fast payment from customers into their vendor wallets via the Tron network.

Inspiration

We are building a platform to serve vendors and traders on the WEB3 and WEB2 space Some of the Problems vendors face in this part of the world is that there’s no centralized location where they can display all the goods and services they have available, using their social media accounts to trade and display goods isn’t scalable and comes with a lot of inconveniences, and using other third-party E-commerce platforms isn’t any better as they come with their own host of problems such as taking a huge percentage from their profits, and with these third-party platforms, there’s no guarantee that visitors would surely buy from your store rather than the hundreds of others there.

Vendors also have a lot of problems surrounding accepting payments, such as delays in payments and the inability to accept cross-border payments.

What it does

We built out an e-commerce platform that solves some of the problems above with these means;

Trading on Leading EDGE: We provided a unique customizable store for each of our vendors on the Leading platform, all vendors need to do is upload all the Items they have for sale and it will be shown in their unique Leading Edge vendor profiles. Any Customer that comes on Leading Edge can view what each vendor has for Sale and make a purchase.

Payments on Leading Edge: All payments on Leading Edge are made with “Tron”, this makes it super fast and direct for customers to make a purchase with their TronLink web wallet. When each Vendor creates a store on Leading Edge, we create a unique “Tron Wallet“ that’s connected to their stores on Leading Edge, when a customer makes a purchase, the money is automatically sent to their wallets. This helps with the management of business funds when vendors have a dedicated wallet where all their business funds go into.

How we built it

Leading Edge was built with multiple packages Firebase was use to manage user database Typescript was used to ensure code and quality codes Redux Was used for state management

Challenges we ran into

  1. Uploading each vendors product
  2. Distributing payments to each vendors wallet accordingly

  1. Customer Chat Support
  2. Filtering of store based on category
  3. Filtering of products on store based on category
  4. Minting/Listing of NFTs on the Store (NFT category)
  5. Migrating to ETH, Matic and Algo.
  6. Improved Payment gateway.
  7. Tracking Sales on vendor dashboard
  8. Tracking Customers on vendor dashboard
  9. Mobile Version (React native)
