Inspiration

The main inspiration for creating such a game was to help users have healthy competition within the Jira board and also to appreciate coworkers for their work. In this manner, we believe people will update their JIRA regularly :)

What it does

Jira Gamers is a gamification that is built on top of the Jira Board. It makes the Jira board more fun and engaging by earning and reviewing award points.

Colleagues can have healthy competition by earning more points and increasing their levels and also awarding points to other colleagues for extraordinary work, helpful comments and moving tasks

How we built it

We build this application using Forge APIs and used React for making the UI.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge was the initial setup of Forge as well as understanding the behavior of the APIs. Using the right mechanism to store the scores of the users and awarding them points on a particular issue.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We have made a fully functional production-level application for the Jira Board. Learning and building a new framework Forge.

What we learned

Learned to integrate forge APIs into our application along with the addition of different components in react.

What's next for Jira-Gamers (Gamification)

Adding more functionality and animations that can make the game more interesting. Also adding more user-based inputs so that it becomes more interactive.
