Inspiration

Looking at the industry, we saw an underutilization of NFTs with most of the current solutions dedicated to art, collectibles, and gaming. We thought that NFT protocols (ERC-721s) could be applicable to so much more, such as real-life assets.

What it does

LEAD. is a SaaS platform that grants ease of access to businesses who are interested in participating in the Web3 economy. These businesses are able to fractionalize and tokenize real-life assets (ERC-721s) thus granting their existing customers access to fractionalized representations of their physical assets through tokens (ERC-20s).

How we built it

The team divided the software development into four main parts, with three parts focusing on the back-end and one on the front-end.

The back-end consisted of ‘Chain Link Price Converter’, ‘Crowdsale’, ‘NFTContract’, and ‘MerkleRewardsDistributor’. We mainly built on top of MerkleTree.js, OpenZeppelin and took some inspiration from Rocket Pool.

The front-end is a combination of an ‘Admin’, ‘NFT’, ‘Crowdsale’, and ‘Dashboard’ page. It was built this way to give an easy user experience for our customers. We used react.js and built upon an open-source template to our desired flow.

Challenges we ran into

Generally, we had to tinker and come up with different solutions to the back-end on various occasions. The main objective was to come up with an intuitive user experience both for businesses and customers where implementation of NFTs (ERC-721s), staking contracts, and the distribution of fractionalized NFTs through tokens (ERC-20s) are done in a fail-proof way.

On the front-end side, we overestimated the project timeline by trying to build with next.js, which only one team member was familiar with. When the dateline was approaching, we took a team decision to simplify things and therefore went with react. On react.js, we made several important tweaks, thus providing an easy and intuitive customer flow.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The team prides itself on being meticulous and delivering high-quality source code. As a result, we are really proud of the completion of the first phase of the LEAD. project in just one month. From producing a minimum viable product to designing a short deck and finally, the presentation of a video to encapsulate the whole journey are some things we are happy to showcase.

What we learned

Software development in the blockchain space has priorities. Safety is our primary aspect, and henceforth, features and aesthetics (UI/UX) of a product. This was our chain of thoughts when approaching this hackathon. This set of principles was also reiterated by Sergey Nazarov.

What's next for LEAD.

The team is highly motivated to take the project to its next phase. This phase includes figuring out a business model and implementing new features on the technological end. While waiting for the results to be announced, we are actively learning and working on our product and would like to have a positive impact on the Web3 industry.
