Inspiration
Our program is designed to allow parents to be interactive with their kids when they are cooking, and allow the children to explore the world of cooking.
What it does
the main feature of the program is to look up food recipes according to the input keyword. additionally, it allows the user to set up preferences setting, such as the cooking equipments that children are capable of using. Finally in the recommendation page, the program recommends random cusine recipes.
How we built it
our program is html/css based website, using python for the apis. we used spoonacular.api to look up recipes online, and display it to the user of our app. we used http protocals to keep everything up to date online.
Challenges we ran into
since most of us were not experienced programmers, we had a lot of limitations. we had to watch tutorial videos and work on the project simultaneously, and had to go around long way using python instead of javascript since none of us were familiar with js content.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
our goal for this hackathon was to learn, some of the features were not developed the way that we intended to. Yet we never gave up and at least made some features working. doesnt matter how good or bad our project is, the fact that we could make a program from scratch is a huge accomplishment for us, the first stop into the field, becoming software engineers.
What we learned
we learnt how to make websites using html and css, using apis online, connecting to local hosts using http protocals in python.
What's next for Le Petit Chef
we will gain more knowledge on our topic and the skills required so that we can make the program work the way we inteded to without errors
