Inspiration
Lazynyfy was born from a universal truth: sometimes, tasks just don’t deserve your time—yet. Why stress about productivity when you can strategically delay? Our .xyz domain (the last letters of the alphabet!) embodies this: if it’s not urgent, let it linger at the bottom of your list like the forgotten "XYZ" of your priorities.
What it does
Lazynyfy is a to-do app for the wisely lazy. Features include:
- Guilt-free postponing: Hit Activate Laziness to prioritize your least important task.
- Procrastination rewards: Play a built-in mini-game to "earn" your delay.
- YouTube Shorts brainrot: Click to watch one random Short (just one... okay, maybe two) before tackling tasks.
How I built it
- Frontend: Nuxt.js (for speed), TailwindCSS + Daisy UI (for chaotic-good aesthetics).
- "Backend": LocalStorage (because connecting to a real backend is as the goal of this app suggests, too much work for a laziness app).
- Game integration using Canvas API: Embedded a mini-game using HTML5 Canvas (procrastination = gamified).
- YouTube API: for showing thumbnail of selected link.
Challenges I ran into
- Frontend-backend disconnect: As a frontend dev, I cried real tears trying to connect to a backend. LocalStorage saved my sanity.
Accomplishments I am proud of
- Built a fully functional app in hackathon time—with two procrastination tools (games + Shorts).
What i learned
- Laziness is a artform: Users loved the mini-game as a "reward" for delaying tasks.
- Frontend supremacy: LocalStorage is the real MVP when backends scare you.
- Embrace the chaos: Silly features (like brainrot Shorts) make apps memorable.
What’s next for Lazynyfy
- "Why Postpone?" dropdown:
- "I’ll do it after my 5th coffee."
- "I’ll do it after my 5th coffee."
- Real backend: Sync tasks across devices (if we feel like it).
- Leaderboard: Crown the Procrastination King/Queen based on delay streaks.
