The commit message is clerical work. lazycommit reads the staged diff (capped at 6,000 characters), sends it to the free Pollinations text API with no API key and no account needed, and offers three conventional commit messages. You pick one by number and it commits.

Safety properties: it refuses to run on an empty index, the diff is truncated before it leaves the machine, and a failed or malformed API response aborts the run instead of guessing.

It ships with 23 offline tests, and the GitLab pipeline runs the same suite on every push; the pipelines on the submission repo are green. This GitLab project is the Transcend edition of a tool first published on GitHub for Hacktoberfest Week 3 2026, rebuilt with native GitLab CI from the first commit. MIT licensed.
