We used to farm in Taiwan before, and we are very lazy, we want to be the Hare in the story The Tortoise and the Hare, but this time we want to make hare win the competition and lazy.
What it does
We try to make farmer lazy.
How we built it
We made an web app for lazy farmers to monitor and analyze their crops by using IOT tech and linked it with Google Cloud Platform to collect and compute the data and finally alert farmer if their have an wired situation.
Challenges we ran into
In the global management challenges, Our team members come from US and Taiwan, so we have coordinate all members to work together through internet and hold meetings in different time zones. In the technical challenges, We found that when multiple devices connect together will encounter data collision problem and we finally using the collision avoidance algorithm we made to avoid data collision and loss.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We finally make agriculture easier and use less man power to grow the crops, we think this IOT and cloud solution can make agriculture revolution in the future!
What we learned
By developing this project, we learn a lot of real world problems about IOT deployment and notwork transmission problems, and we finally found a way to solve them with some fine algorithms to hack it!
What's next for Lazy Farmer
We want to develop an ios service and computer vision to auto detect the plant's health and give advises to farmer who use our service.
