Inspiration
LazosTech RecycleProof comes from a simple idea: recycling work should create visible, verifiable value for the people and communities doing it.
Many sustainability programs collect data after the fact, but communities, recyclers, schools, and local organizations need a clearer way to prove activity, show impact, and connect recycling records with incentives or institutional reporting.
What it does
RecycleProof helps turn recycling activity into structured, verifiable impact records.
The project is designed to support:
- recycling activity registration
- participant and organization records
- impact tracking
- transparent sustainability evidence
- blockchain-backed proof of contribution
- future incentive or credit systems
The long-term vision is to make recycling activity easier to trust, easier to report, and easier to reward.
How we built it
LazosTech is part of our broader Symmetry ecosystem. For Build Week, we focused the submission around the AI-assisted RecycleProof layer: a clearer product narrative, operational workflows, and the path toward verifiable impact records.
The system combines web application patterns, database-backed records, and blockchain-oriented architecture. Our current stack includes React/Next.js style interfaces, Supabase/PostgreSQL data infrastructure, and smart contract thinking for verifiable public records.
How we used OpenAI and Codex
Codex helped us organize the product into a judge-friendly workflow, clarify the architecture, define what should be shown in a demo, and turn the sustainability vision into a practical product story.
OpenAI tools were used to structure the user journey, improve documentation, reason about edge cases, and design a path from raw recycling data to trusted impact evidence.
Challenges
The biggest challenge is making sustainability records both useful and trustworthy. Recycling impact is often fragmented across people, informal operators, institutions, and local programs. The product needs to be simple enough for real communities while still producing records that can be audited and trusted.
What we learned
A strong sustainability product is not only about tokenization. It starts with trustworthy evidence, clear workflows, and incentives that match real-world behavior.
What's next
Next we want to improve the live dashboard, strengthen the verification model, connect more real-world recycling flows, and prepare the system for institutional pilots in Colombia and Latin America.
