built LawyerUp after realizing how often people sign leases, job contracts, and service agreements they don’t truly understand, get trapped by hidden clauses, lose money or opportunities they never saw coming, and accept unfair terms simply because legal language is confusing, lawyers are expensive, and most people have no realistic way to protect themselves, so I wanted to create something that instantly explains what’s actually in a contract, highlights risks, shows what matters, helps people push back when needed, and gives everyday people the same clarity and protection that only expensive legal help used to provide.
