Laundry Lens

Inspiration

We wanted to create an app that helps us better take care of our clothes by washing them properly

What it does

Reads clothing wash care tags and outputs a more readable version of the tag

How we built it

We used python for the symbol detection and tkinter for the gui

Challenges we ran into

It was our first time using tkinter and opencv so we had a lot of trouble learning both at a fast pace as we were unfamiliar with both libraries.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to successfully detect symbols on clothing tags at a ~90% success rate

What's next for Laundry Lens

The app isn't done yet so we plan to update the gui, improve accuracy and make a more readable display.
