Inspiration

LaunchPilot AI is an intelligent website generator that transforms a simple text description into a fully designed, multi-section website. Users type an idea like "AI fitness app that tracks workouts and nutrition" or "developer portfolio with dark mode and particle effects", and the AI analyses the input, selects the optimal layout sections, generates tailored copy, and assembles a live preview in real time.

Key capabilities:

  1. Smart AI Analysis - Keyword-driven engine detects 15+ website types (SaaS, e-commerce, portfolio, fintech, healthcare, travel, education, agency, mobile app, creator platform, and more) and auto-selects 11–14 conversion-optimised sections per build.
  2. 60+ Section Components - 60+ modular sections across 8 categories: Structure, Hero, Social Proof, Content, Pricing, Conversion, Support, and About. Each has multiple visual variants.
  3. 11 Pre-Built Portfolio Templates - One-click instant sites for developers, doctors, chartered accountants, content creators, architects, teachers, photographers, and personal professionals. Each template includes 11–14 pre-wired sections with unique visual treatments.
  4. Full Layout Presets - Complete site blueprints (SaaS Platform, E-commerce Store, Creative Agency, Mobile App, Product Launch) with 11–14 sections each, selected and ordered for maximum conversion.
  5. Live Preview & Deploy - Instant preview of the generated site with the ability to edit content inline and deploy a shareable link.
  6. Auto-Save & Re-open - Generated sites are automatically saved to the user's dashboard with a permanent sidebar for quick re-access.
  7. Dark Mode Support - Every component and template supports light/dark mode out of the box.

Inspiration Most no-code builders still require users to drag, drop, and configure every element. We wanted to remove that friction entirely. The idea was simple: if you can describe your product in a sentence, you should have a professional website live in under a minute. We were inspired by the speed of AI image generators and wanted to bring that same "type and get" experience to web design.

What it does

  1. Describe your idea - Type anything from a single sentence to a full brief.
  2. AI Analysis - The system classifies your idea, runs keyword detection across 15+ industry categories, and selects the best 11–14 components for your site.
  3. Component Library - Choose from 60+ sections (Navbar, Hero, Features, Testimonials, Pricing, FAQ, Contact, Timeline, Roadmap, Awards, Case Studies, Video Gallery, and more). Each section has multiple variants.
  4. Instant Preview - The AI assembles the full page with tailored copy, section ordering, and responsive layout. Preview it immediately.
  5. One-Click Deploy - Publish your site and get a live URL to share.

How we built it

  1. Frontend: React 18, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui component library, Framer Motion (Motion) for animations
  2. Backend & Auth: Supabase (PostgreSQL, Row Level Security, OAuth/Email auth) AI Engine: Custom keyword-classification engine with 15+ industry presets and per-component reasoning map
  3. Design System: Minimal aesthetic - airy whitespace, clear font hierarchy, restrained decoration, long-term reading comfort
  4. State Management: React hooks with local storage persistence and Supabase sync for saved sites

Challenges we ran into

  1. Component explosion: Scaling from 12 to 60+ components while keeping the UI fast and searchable required a smart category filter + search system.
  2. Template routing: Early versions fast-tracked portfolio templates straight to preview, skipping analysis. Users wanted to review sections first, so we re-routed all templates through the Analysis step with pre-set selections.
  3. AI recommendation quality: Early presets returned only 6–8 sections. Through user testing we discovered 11+ sections with social proof and trust layers significantly improved perceived professionalism.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  1. 60+ modular components with 1–6 variants each, covering every section a modern website needs.
  2. 15+ AI industry presets - each returning 11–14 hand-curated sections with detailed reasoning.
  3. 11 portfolio templates including a premium dark-mode developer portfolio (Nexus Black) with canvas particle animations, typed role rotator, project showcase, skill bars, pricing toggle, blog search, and a command box.
  4. Zero-to-website in under 60 seconds - the fastest path from idea to live preview.
  5. Built-in auto-save and My Sites sidebar - users never lose their work and can reopen any site instantly.

What we learned

  1. Less is more in AI selection: Over-selecting components hurts conversion. 11–14 tightly curated sections perform better than 20+ random ones.
  2. Trust signals matter: Components like Trust Badges, Stats, and Certifications disproportionately improve perceived credibility -especially for finance, healthcare, and professional portfolios.
  3. Portfolio users want control: Even with one-click templates, users want to see why sections were chosen. Per-component reasoning ("Why this section?") dramatically increased template adoption.

What's next for LaunchPilot AI

  1. AI image generation - Auto-generate hero images, product shots, and avatars from text prompts using integrated image-gen APIs.
  2. Custom domain deployment - Map generated sites to user-owned domains with SSL.
  3. A/B testing framework - Let users spin variant versions of their site and compare conversion.
  4. E-commerce checkout integration - Stripe-powered checkout blocks for direct store functionality. Multi-language AI - Generate sites in 20+ languages with one-click translation.
