Inspiration
We were inspired by the workflows of modern-day CEOs. Higher authority often requires a panel of decision-makers to support their decision, and with businesses' integration into AI, we wanted to support this smooth transition by giving changemakers their own panel to work with.
What it does
With multi-agent workflows taking turns in a groupchat-like simulation, and a live-updating UI to show the stages of progress, we branched off the existing simplistic single-agent model and added multi-agent middleware, as well as the option for a user to update their theme for user visibility (dyslexia-friendly fonts, and fonts/theme of choice as well as default system UI, that stick when a user logs out and back in). Alongside this, we implemented a user login feature, with the possibility to reset passwords using a security key set upon signup, as well as changing passwords from within the account page itself.
How we built it
By the process of elimination and brainstorming ideas, we decided to focus on two key parts of middleware - authentication and multi-agent workflows, deeming these two the most crucial for an app to function and stand out as useful in the modern day. We then developed an iterative process of development, testing, and improvements based on our observations.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into challenges while implementing the BytePlus models themselves, requiring a Volcengine account which was region-locked, but by modifying the launchpad source code we were able to use the global BytePlus version and proceed.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of not only getting the system up and running, but being able to code such architecture in the span of time given, considering that implementing sticky themes and turn-by-turn agents communicating and handing off to each other is somewhat complex.
What we learned
We learned about the importance of structure and formatting during handoff prompts, about system and chat memory, about safety and security of our data when creating website authentication (and how exactly to keep such data safe), and more.
What's next for LaunchPad v2.0
More QOL and improvements to the workflows option, to truly finetune it to being intuitive for the technologically savvy and for beginners alike. Our target audience, once again, is those making the jump or shift to AI, and we want to ease them in.
